Heart-wrenching video of long queues outside crematoriums in China spreads Covid fear
As the Covid-19 explosion in China has led to hospitals and morgues getting overwhelmed by millions of patients, a horrific video has come to the fore where people can be seen waiting in long queues outside crematoriums in the country.
A video shared by health expert Eric Feigl-Ding on Twitter shows heart-wrenching scenes of families carrying bodies of their loved ones for hours to cremate them.
"Epic long lines at crematoriums. imagine having to not just wait for hours to cremate you loved ones, but have to do it carrying their deceased bodies for all those hours. let's have empathy for the horrific #COVID19 wave crashing into China," Dang tweeted along with the video.
China has been hit by yet another severe wave of coronavirus with many succumbing to the infection since December 1.
A leaked document purportedly from China's National Health Commission suggested that about 248 million people around the country, roughly 17.56 per cent of the total population, were affected by the Covid-19 surge between December 1 and 20, Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post newspaper reported.
